Sergey Girdin, Marvel Group President, is satisfied with the Distribution Department, having noted thereby that every department of the company has contributed to these results. On the whole, the fourth quarter of the previous year has proved to be the best period in Marvel-Distribution history.
Konstantin Shlyakhov, Marvel General Manager, has noted that these results were achieved due to the following factors:
the distribution product portfolio expanded (the company entered into agreements with a number of new suppliers such as Apple, Acer (desktops, servers and PDAs), Iomega, Olympus, Tandberg, Tripp Lite).
Marvel joined with the Fostergroup company, this resulting in a noticeable increase of the hi-fi and hi-end solutions range.
At the moment, the distributor’s portfolio contains products of 70 vendors, the world’s major producers of various IT equipment.
“Another aspect of our success in business has resulted from the goal we set ourselves back in the beginning of 2009, that is “living within our means”. For the achievement of this goal we have done the following:
increased our work efficiency;
tightened control over the company’s expenses and balance sheet ratios;
increased our stock turnover;
pursued a well-reasoned credit policy towards our partners.
Summarizing the 2009 results we can observe the following:
the Marvel Distribution business volume has decreased by 26% in 2009 in comparison with that of 2008;
the sales volume of the Networks and Telecommunications Department has decreased by 40%;
that of the Components, Peripherals, Digital Equipment, Mobile Devices Department has decreased by 36%;
the Notebooks, Desktops and Servers Department, in its turn, has increased its sales by 4%;
the Audio/Video Department sales have increased even more, by 72%.
