On the one hand, during the first six months of 2009, total sales and business activity were on the decrease. On the other hand, compared to the first six months of the previous year, Marvel experienced an increase in the sales of equipment from some vendors of the Networks and Telecommunications Department.
As a result of the first six months of 2010, the sales volume of network equipment makes up 35% of the total Marvel’s turnover. Marvel has a departmental structure. The Networks Department has three product units:
- large enterprise solutions;
- solutions for SMB;
- voice solutions.
Each of these units has its “growing vendors”.
According to Igor Belik, head of Networks and Telecommunications Department, compared to the first six months of 2009 and 2008, we can see that the highest sales level belongs to Linksys by Cisco for SMB market (a 73% increase), the second best level – to voice solutions by AudioCodes (a 49% increase), followed by Avocent equipment (a 14 % increase).
The teamwork of the distributor and the vendor resulted in the increase of Linksys sales. In the recent years, the producer has been attending to the SMB market and developed high-quality solutions. On the other hand, Marvel’s Networks Department has also been focusing on SMB solutions since 2007. Cisco Russian office support was an important factor of Linksys solutions promotion as well. As a result of the first sixth months of 2009, system integrators, corporate resellers and communication operators proved to be the most interested in the Linksys solutions. Ethernet communication, voice solutions and wireless equipment were the most demanded ones.
The sales increase of AudioCodes equipment is connected with the vendor's greater activity on the operator’s market and with more flexible price policies. Due to that, the producer has become Marvel’s leader of the given accounting period . MP-11x, MP-20x, Mediant М1K, М2K have become the most popular solutions among Marvel’s operators-partners.
As for the Avocent solutions, their increase in sales took place due to the company’s participation in “long cycle” projects which were launched by Marvel in the winter of 2008. The deliveries within these projects were realized during the first sixth months of 2009. Our partners-integrators received KVM switches and console servers in the course of this period. Over the second sixth months the deliveries will be continued.
We are very glad that Avocent, Linksys and AudioCodes that Marvel began to work with in 2004, 2007 and 2008 respectively, render support to the distributor as well as to the partners. It enables each of us to grow and successfully develop our joint business, – added Igor Belik.
