Marvel recognized as Cisco's best distributor in Emerging East in 2009

“We are proud we’ve got this award in this difficult year of 2009,” – said Konstantin Shlyakhov, Marvel Distribution General Manager. “We managed to save the dominating share in the channel on the pre-crisis 2008 level. And we are also the first Russian distributor who is the best on the Emerging East territory”, – added Mr. Shlyakhov.

This is the main segment for Cisco; and the distributor has also become the pioneer in the reshaping of Cisco's import model during 2009”, - said Mikhail Kristev, Cisco Partnership Director in Russia.
Marvel-Distribution is awarded by Cisco for the third time in a row. In 2007 and 2008 the Distributor was named the best Cisco partner in terms of sales increase in the SMB segment in Russia. “Due to effective cooperation between Marvel and Cisco last year, our base of partners increased by 39%, if compared to 2008. Marvel-Distribution was the first Russian company to enter into a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) agreement with Cisco. It enables us to strengthen our market position and adapt to new market conditions”, said Sergey Lapko, Marvel’s Director of Networking and Telecommunications Department.
The cooperation between the Distributor and Cisco began in 1998. Cisco has become “the No.1 Vendor” in Marvel’s turnover over the last five years. The best sales year of Cisco solutions for Marvel-Distribution was 2008 when sales increased by 46%, if compared to 2007. In 2009, the company could hold a strong market share despite the overall decrease in the IT market. One of the main goals of the Distributor for 2010 is expansion in other regions and partner network development. The main sales segments are SMB market, government and corporate sectors, telecommunications as well as education and financial bodies.

Marvel’s position is also strengthened by companies belonging to Cisco, such as IronPort, Lynksys, Tandberg. In the near future the Distributor is planning to expand the deliveries program by Scientific Atlanta solutions and to become more active in the DPC (Data Processing Centre) market with the new Cisco UCS products.
