The best second quarter in Marvel-Distribution history

“This is the best second quarter in our history” – said Konstantin Shlyakhov, Marvel-Distribution General Manager. – “Our aim for 2010 is to excel the 2008 sales volume, the best period for Marvel ever. During the last six months we have increased the sales volume by 15%, if compared to the same period in 2008.”



“The high growth level of our sales in 2010 deals with the revival of the IT market in general as well as with Marvel’s own activity. We are developing of our dealer network, promote of our vendors’ products, and we see our partners’ real interest towards the new brands in our portfolio. Vendors with whom Marvel began to collabotate in 2009 contributed 22% in the Distributor’s total sales volume (Apple, Acer (Desktops, Servers, PDAs), Iomega, Olympus, Packard-Bell, Tandberg, Tripp Lite),” added Konstantin Shlyakhov.

One of the Distributor’s aims in the current year is diversification of our sales portfolio and new markets’ development. The lineup of components was complemented by Antec boxes and power units. Parallels software and Belkin accessories complemented Apple products. New product areas also include Jabra headsets, ViewSonic multimedia projectors as well as e-book readers by Lbook, PocketBook и ViewSonic.

The sales of Marvel's product departments in the first six months of 2010:
- Notebooks, Desktops and Servers – 43.8% (29.6% in the first six months of 2009);
- Components, Peripherals, Digital Equipment, Mobile Devices – 28.6% (35.4% in the first six months of 2009);
- Networks and Telecommunications – 27.1% (34.7% in the first six months of 2009);
- Audio/Video – 0.5% (0.4% in the first six months of 2009).

For the first time in many years the Notebooks group has occupied the first place in Distributor’s sales volume, followed by the Enterprise Solutions group with 20.3%, Servers and Data Storage Systems with 12.8%, Mobile Communication Devices with 11.1%, Desktops with 6.6%. Summarizing the first six months of 2010, the best top ten vendors in Marvel’s sales volume are the following brands:

In 2010 the dealer network has increased by 24% compared to the same period of 2009, now including 1984 companies from 144 Russian cities. The top ten best Russian cities, apart from St. Petersburg and Moscow, are Vladivostok, Kazan, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Khabarovsk, Tyumen, Perm, Krasnodar. The sales share is 58% of total sales for box devices and 42% for project sales.
